Dairy cows
Common to the three Danish dairy breeds, SDM, RDM, and Jersey, is their high yields and good udder quality.
General health is of the highest priority in Denmark. Likewise, they all have both strong legs and good hoof health.
High yield, high fertility, and good calf traits play a significant role in Danish milk production.
We are suppliers of:
Jersey
An average Jersey herd produces about 10,200 kg ECM (fat approximately 5.99% and protein 4.36%); the highest producing Jersey herds yield around 13,000 kg ECM.
A particularly well-regarded and recognised breed on the international scene. Good fertility, high feed efficiency, good udders, and strong legs.
RDM (Danish Red)
An average RDM herd produces about 10,600 kg ECM (fat approximately 4.5% and protein approximately 3.78%); the highest producing RDM herds yield around 12,400 kg ECM. Extremely productive cow with a good temperament and well-regarded in Denmark, used in both dairy and beef breeding programmes.
Also known for producing animals with longevity, high fertility, easy calving, and high milk production with high fat and protein content.
RDM is also known for its strong resistance to mastitis and its ability to adapt to other climate zones, including high- and low-temperature conditions.
SDM (Holstein)
Holstein is the most widespread breed in Denmark and is probably among the best in the world. Strong legs and large, quality udders. They are known for being healthy and strong cows, with high fertility and strong calves.
An average Holstein herd in Denmark produces close to 12,000 kg ECM (fat approximately 4.14% and protein approximately 3.56%).
Holsteins can vary greatly from herd to herd, but the highest producing in Denmark yield 16,000 kg.
